New Year's Eve celebrations are about to kick off and Gwyneth Paltrow is offering up some solutions for a common New Year's Day affliction - the hangover!
Gwynnie gathered advice from Dr. Frank Lipman and Dr. Oz Garcia, as well as her local London pharmacist, and benevolently passed the info along to her subscribers in her GOOP newsletter this week.

"We all know what happens on NYE so here is our best to help you prepare for the day after," she wrote, along with a scientific explanation for what causes the dreaded post-party blues.
Among the "Contagion" star's tips (along with the commonly known preventative measures such as taking aspirin, drinking water and eating something before going to sleep), try indulging in a bit of "hydrotherapy."

"If you have the time and the inclination, I've found that the best hangover remedy can be a hot and cold spa treatment," Gwyneth suggests. "I've been known to recreate this experience at home too.
"Just draw a bath that is as hot as you can handle it and mix in some Epsom Salts and Baking Soda," she continued. "Soak for twenty minutes and then pop into a freezing cold shower for 1 minute. Get back in the hot bath and stay until you're warmed up. Then get back in the shower for 1 more minute."
If that remedy sounds a little too complex for your liking, the 39-year-old beauty suggests drinking Mercy elixir.

Gwyneth -- who likes their product so much she became an investor in the company - claims the drink is "packed with amino acids, vitamins, minerals and herbs that protect your system against the inevitable hangover and that flush you can get from drinking."
"You can drink it alone or mix it with alcohol to create a hangover preventing cocktail," she added.

Additionally, Gwyneth suggests taking Milk Thistle capsules to help your liver cope with cocktail overload, or the classic early morning Bloody Mary.
"Perhaps the least healthy choice, but sometimes unavoidable - at times, just a little of last night's poison does the trick," she added.
The actress is no stranger to hangovers - back in September, the Oscar winner revealed she had overindulged at her 39th birthday party and was paying the price.
"Nursing a horrific hangover at the jfk," she Tweeted at the time. "Nothing like starting an overseas flight dehydrated. Where is the dog, I need the hair."
